Carlton have used their last national pick (66) in the 2009 Rookie Draft to select an unmissable new player.

Joshua Donaldson is a tall, skinny ruckman, whose bright red hair stands out from anywhere on the oval.

Although he stands at a high 193cm, he is not alone in height at Carlton, with 10 of his team mates measuring in above him.

Donaldson’s endurance is obvious on the field, with a strong overhead mark and long kick.

A versatile footballer who can play in various positions around the ground, Donaldson proved himself during the 2009 draft camp, finishing in the top 20 per cent of numerous drills and tests.

However, his very average performances in this years AFL U18 Championship is the likely reason he slid to so low in the draft. 

With the recent delisting of former Blue Cameron Cloke, and injuries often plaguing Robbie Warnock, the future looks bright for Donaldson to make his mark as Carlton’s newest ruckman in 2010.
